Technologische innovatie is in een digitale stroomversnelling geraakt. Projecten worden in toenemende mate multidisciplinair en de component industriële automatisering neemt almaar in belang toe. Het zijn deze marktontwikkelingen die ten grondslag liggen aan de nieuwe gespecialiseerde vakbeurs Industry & Automation, een initiatief van VNU Exhibitions en FEDA. De beurs is ontstaan uit de beurs Industrie & ICT en het gedeelte Factory Automation van de beurs Aandrijftechniek, die werd gehouden in 2008.
Onder de noemer ‘Solutions for Process- and Factory Automation’ vormt Industry & Automation 2010 hét centrale ontmoetingspunt voor industriële automatisering in de Benelux.
